This Cookie Policy explains how ChinaMakersHub uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies let a site remember information between pages or between visits — for example, that a form was submitted from the same session. Related technologies, such as local storage and tracking pixels, work in a similar way and are covered by this policy under the general term "cookies".
Cookies are described as first-party when set by ChinaMakersHub itself, and third-party when set by another service we use. They are also described as session cookies, which are erased when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period.
Our approach
ChinaMakersHub is a B2B sourcing platform, not an advertising business. We have deliberately built the site to rely on as few cookies as possible. You can browse factory profiles, read the Journal, and submit an inquiry without accepting any non-essential cookies. We do not operate a cookie wall, and we do not condition access to the site on consent to tracking.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to function securely and cannot be switched off through our site. They include cookies that support form security (such as cross-site request forgery protection when you submit an inquiry or a factory application) and cookies set by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, to route traffic and mitigate malicious activity. No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies, and they do not store information that identifies you personally.
Analytics
We measure site traffic using Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies and does not fingerprint or track individual visitors across sites. If we ever introduce a cookie-based analytics tool, such as Google Analytics, we will request your consent before any analytics cookie is set, and this policy will be updated to list it.
Advertising
ChinaMakersHub does not show advertising on the site. When we run Google Ads campaigns to reach buyers, clicking one of our ads may cause Google to set conversion-measurement cookies governed by Google's own policies. These cookies are not set by visiting the site directly, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's Ads Settings.
Cookie reference table
The table below summarises the cookies and technologies you may encounter. Exact names may change as our infrastructure providers update their services.
| Cookie / technology | Set by | Purpose | Type & duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Distinguishes humans from bots to protect the site from abuse. | Necessary · ~30 minutes |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Records that a security challenge was passed, so it is not repeated. | Necessary · session to ~1 year |
| Form security token | ChinaMakersHub | Protects inquiry and factory-application forms against cross-site request forgery. | Necessary · session |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Cloudflare | Aggregated, cookieless traffic measurement — no personal identifiers. | Analytics · no cookie set |
| Google Ads conversion | Measures whether an ad click led to an inquiry. Only after arriving via a Google Ads link. | Advertising · up to 90 days |
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we rely on. We do not control these cookies, and their use is governed by each provider's own policy. The third parties that may set cookies in connection with ChinaMakersHub are Cloudflare (hosting, security and performance) and, only for visitors arriving from a paid campaign, Google (advertising conversion measurement). We do not embed social-media widgets, comment systems, or other third-party scripts that would set additional cookies.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete existing cookies, or be warned before a cookie is stored. The relevant settings are usually found under "Privacy" or "Security":
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Because we use only a small number of strictly necessary cookies for core functionality, blocking non-essential cookies will not prevent you from browsing the site or submitting an inquiry. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause form submissions or security checks to fail.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how sites should respond to it. Because ChinaMakersHub does not track visitors across other websites and does not build advertising profiles, our behaviour is effectively the same whether or not a Do Not Track signal is present.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if our use of cookies changes or to reflect legal or operational developments. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes — such as introducing a new category of cookie — we will provide a more prominent notice on the website.
